FAU Concert Features Works by Michael McGlynn
BOCA RATON, FL (March 2, 2012) –Florida Atlantic University’s department of music in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will present a concert featuring works by composer Michael McGlynn, among other works, on Saturday, March 17 at 7 p.m. in the University Theatre, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Performers include FAU’s Chamber Women's Chorus, Chamber Singers, Chorale and Symphony Orchestra. The concert will include the North American premier of McGlynn’s "Behind the Closed Eye Suite."
McGlynn will spend a week in residency at FAU working with students and faculty. The concert is a culmination of this visit. McGlynn has been recorded and performed by such internationally recognized vocal ensembles as the BBC Singers, the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, the Phoenix Chorale and Chanticleer. In 1987, he founded the choral group Anúna, which has released 14 albums.
