FAU Jupiter Names New Associate Dean of Student Affairs
JUPITER, FL (December 16, 2008) – Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter has named A.J. Chase as its new associate dean of student affairs. Chase previously served as assistant dean of student affairs on FAU’s Treasure Coast campus in Port St. Lucie.
“ I am honored to be joining the MacArthur campus community,” said Chase. “ I look forward to working with students, alumni and my colleagues on the faculty and staff to build on the strengths of the campus' distinctive culture of service, leadership and academic excellence.”
As associate dean of students, Chase’s responsibilities will encompass all areas under Student Affairs, including the health center, career development center, counseling, student activities, wellness, recreation, multicultural affairs, orientation, and all other non-academic student issues.
“A.J. is an experienced professional, bringing fifteen years of experience and expertise to her new position. Her strong leadership and advocacy will take Student Affairs on this campus to new heights,” said Dr. Kristen Murtaugh, vice president of the MacArthur Campus.
Chase received her bachelor of science degree in public administration from George Mason University and a master’s degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University. She is a candidate in the educational leadership-higher education Ph.D. program at FAU. Chase resides in Stuart with her husband, Zach, and their two children.
FAU’s MacArthur Campus in Jupiter offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The campus is home to the Wilkes Honors College, the Lifelong Learning Society and Scripps Florida research facilities.
