BOCA RATON, FL (November 15, 2010) – Florida Atlantic University will host the following events:
FAU’s Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College to Host Open House
The open house will take place on Saturday, November 20, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m . at FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus, 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter. For directions, more information or to RSVP, call 561-799-8646 or 1-800-920-8705, or visit www.honorscollege.edu.
Prospective students and their families are invited to visit the Wilkes Honors College and learn more about its four-year residential program in liberal arts and science. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m., and light refreshments will be served. A panel presentation including current faculty, staff and students, starts at 1 p.m., with information sessions on academic programs, admissions, financial aid, housing and student life. Campus tours will be offered.

of the Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduates Exhibition Titled
‘Unabridged Intentions’

The exhibition features 12 graduating artists and their work in the fields of photography, ceramics, painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. There will be food and live music, featuring Nikolas Dee and Ryan Kearns from Trip Don’t Fall.

Orlan will be present at the opening reception to
celebrate the first U.S. solo exhibition of her historically
significant surgery-performance photos. The exhibition runs
through Saturday, January 22.

FAU University Galleries Hosts ‘Raymond Pettibon:
The Punk Years’
The free exhibition runs through
Saturday, January 22, at
FAU’s Schmidt Center Gallery, 777 Glades Road,
Boca Raton campus.
The exhibition features Pettibon’s early graphic works from the California punk rock era, and includes more than 200 examples of Pettibon’s aggressively powerful designs created for the band Black Flag (whose lead vocalist was Henry Rollins) and other well-known punk bands, including Sonic Youth, Hüsker Dü, Circle Jerks and the Dead Kennedys. There will also be a program of screenings, music and lectures that celebrates the legacy of the California punk culture.
