Legal Sea Foods Hosts Festive ‘Keep Memories Alive’ Sponsor Party and Kickoff Celebration
Fifth Annual Black Tie
Walk Affair to Benefit FAU’s Louis and Anne Green
Memory and Wellness Center
BOCA RATON, FL (November 5, 2010) – Legal Sea Foods recently hosted a festive party to honor sponsors and kickoff the Caring Hearts Auxiliary of Florida Atlantic University’s Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center’s fifth annual “Keep Memories Alive Walk.”
More than 60 sponsors and guests attended the event, which was co-chaired by Lori and Lauren Levinson. Walk sponsor Majic 102.7 FM’s DJ, Christopher Ryan, provided music for all the guests for the evening, and Chef Dave Morel ensured that no one went home hungry with his outstanding hors d’ oeuvres.
The Keep Memories Alive Walk is a black-tie walk affair that will take place on Sunday, November 7 at 9 a.m. at the Town Center at Boca Raton. The 2009 event attracted 300 walkers and raised more than $100,000.
Caring Hearts Auxiliary board members Karen Hoffheimer and Deborah Lindstrom are co-chairs of the walk, along with with auxiliary members Debbie Gonzalez and Morgan Green.
Green addressed guests and recognized the event’s sponsors as “super heroes” for their generous support of the Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center. Honorary family member Diana Bubb spoke on how important the Center is for not only the participants, including her husband Frank, but also their families. Presenting sponsor Bobby Campbell and honorary chair and sponsor Christine Lynn also were recognized.
Dr. Kathleen Valentine, interim director for the Center, recognized Louis and Anne Green for “making a dream come true” when they pledged financial support eight years ago.
The Center, located on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, is part of FAU’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing and averages 16,000 visits per year. The Center offers a wide range of services and programs to individuals with mild to moderate memory disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. Visits begin with a comprehensive memory evaluation. The evaluation results often help diagnose a memory disorder and develop a treatment plan in cooperation with a patient’s physicians.
