FAU to Present George Handel’s
‘Messiah’
BOCA RATON (November 23, 2009) – The department of music in the School of the Arts in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will present George Handel’s “Messiah” on Sunday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. Admission is $15. This concert will be performed by the FAU Chambers Singers, along with some of its alumni and professional orchestra members. It will be directed by Patricia P. Fleitas.
“Messiah,” the most well-known of Handel’s works,
relates the story of the life of Jesus. Perhaps the most famous
portion of the work is the “Hallelujah” chorus. This
holiday classic is a wonderful way to bring in the
holidays.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased by calling 800-564-9539 or
visiting
www.fauevents.com.
