FAU’s Towers Community Council, an organization under the Department of Housing and Residential Life’s Resident Student Association, will host “Band+AIDS.” The charity event aims to raise money for Treasure the Children, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to helping those children and young adults diagnosed with HIV/AIDS or other chronic illnesses. This event, which takes place on World AIDS Day, will feature live bands such as Leading the Heros, Asterisk and Tri Funk Point, as well as presentations from children and young adults from Treasure the Children.
The goal of the “Band+AIDS” event is to raise $5,000, as well as collect more than 1,000 pairs of 100 percent-denim blue jeans. The money will allow Treasure the Children to continue to help as many people as possible, and the jeans will assist Treasure the Children in making quilts to give to the sick in the hospital.
