FAU to Host Sixth Annual Turkey Bowl Chess Championship
BOCA RATON, FL (November 16, 2007) – The Florida Atlantic University Student Union will host the sixth annual Turkey Bowl Chess Championship tonight from 7:15 to 10:15 p.m., Saturday, November 17 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Student Union, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
Members of the FAU Chess Team along with top chess players from throughout the state of Florida – including several chess masters and National Scholastic Champions – are expected to compete in the event. Selected games will be webcast live at www.monroi.com.
In addition to this tournament, FAU’s chess team will compete in the Collegiate Chess Championship taking place in December at Miami-Dade Community College.
