FAU School of Accounting Receives
Gift from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
BOCA RATON (October 16, 2009) – Florida Atlantic University’s School of Accounting, a department within the College of Business, recently received a $5,000 gift from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, an international public accounting firm with South Florida offices in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Miami. The gift will help support students in the School of Accounting by providing funding for scholarships and professional development.
“FAU's School of Accounting continues to produce outstanding accounting graduates,” said Kevin Young, partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers. “PricewaterhouseCoopers is proud to support the University’s efforts in developing the School of Accounting to be one of the truly exemplary programs in the country.”
PricewaterhouseCoopers consistently recruits and hires FAU accounting students. The gift marks the firm’s third annual contribution to FAU’s College, with previous gifts of $7,500 in 2008 and $5,000 in 2007. PricewaterhouseCoopers also is a regular sponsor of the School of Accounting’s annual fundraising event, “Celebration.”

FAU’s School of Accounting has more than 1,600 students enrolled in its programs. Its mission is to provide innovative accounting programs by employing diverse faculty to teach and develop our students’ technical, analytical, communication, interpersonal and lifelong learning skills. The School of Accounting Scholars Program recruits highly-qualified and motivated students for a full-time, two-year, day program beginning in the senior year. Graduates of the program receive both a bachelor of business administration and a master of accounting, and complete the requirements of the Florida Board of Accountancy.
