FAU’s Premier Music Season
Opens with the Jazz Ratz
BOCA RATON, FL (October 12, 2009) – Florida Atlantic University’s department of music in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents the first concert in their premier series on Sunday, November 1 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus. The Jazz Ratz will present “Bright Lights and Sweet Music: the Ratz on Broadway.” Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by visiting www.fauevents.com or at 1-800-564-9539.
The Jazz Ratz Quintet is made up of faculty and guest artists under the direction of Tim Walters, a professor of music at FAU. The concert will include “ Fascinatin' Rhythm,” “Broadway,” “On the Street Where You Live,” and “The Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” among other songs.
Other upcoming concerts in the series include the Band-O-Rama Family Concert of big band and marching band music on Sunday, November 22 at 3 p.m. and the FAU Choral Ensembles presentation of “The Messiah” on Sunday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m.
