FAU’s Piano Faculty to Present Concert

          BOCA RATON (October 17, 2008) -- The department of music in the School of the Arts in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will open its premier series on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. with “88 Keys: 80 Fingers! FAU Piano Faculty Recital.” The concert will take place in the University Theatre on the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. Admission is $15.

The concert will include music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Frederic Chopin, Johannes Brahms, Henry Dixon, William Walton and others.   FAU’s piano faculty include Heather Coltman, chair of the FAU department of music; Judith Burganger; Irena Kofman; Krisztina Kover; Anne Louise-Turgeon; David Rossow; Leonid Treer; and Edward Turgeon.  

Other concerts in the this season’s premier series include the FAU Choral Ensembles presentation of “The Messiah” on Sunday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m.; a concert by the FAU Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, February 15 at 3 p.m.; and a festival of new music composed by Libby Larsen on Friday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. For more information on these or any other performances at FAU, call 800-564-9539 or visit www.fauevents.com.
