FAU Calendar of Events for the Week
of September 20, 2010
BOCA RATON, FL (September 20, 2010) – Florida Atlantic University will host the following events:
FAU’s Department of Theatre Presents Six Degrees of
Separation
The play runs from
Friday, October 1 through Sunday, October 10, Fridays
and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2
p.m., in
Studio One Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus,
777 Glades Road. Tickets can be purchased at
www.fauevents.com
or 1-800-564-9539.
This play by John Guare is inspired by a real-life con
artist (Paul) who shows up on the doorstep of a wealthy socialite
couple in New York City after he has been the victim of an attack
on the streets of the city. Paul claims to be Sidney
Poitier’s son and says he is a friend to the New York
couple’s son. Captivated by Paul's intelligence and his
fascinating conversation, the couple invites him to stay
overnight. As the play progresses, Paul's cons unexpectedly lead
him into darker territory, and his lies begin to catch up with
him. His presence in the household of this socialite couple,
however, causes them to look more closely at their lives and
connections they always thought were important. The play contains
adult content. Parental discretion is advised. This production
contains male frontal nudity and graphic language.
FAU’s Department of Music Presents the FAU Jazz
Ratz Quintet with And Now With Something Completely
Different
The free event (donations suggested) will take place on
Sunday, October 3 at 3 p.m. in the
University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus,
777 Glades Road.
FAU’s Jazz Ratz Quintet includes Tim Walters, David
Hammer, Rob Rimmington, Mike Brignola and Tony Lavender.
