FAU Designates September as Safety
Month
A Wide Variety of Safety Events
to Take Place on FAU Campuses
BOCA RATON, FL (September 3, 2009)
– Florida Atlantic University has
designated September as Safety Month and will host a series of
events on the University’s campuses throughout the course of
the month.
The Safety Month schedule is as follows:
- Boca Raton campus – week of September 8
- Treasure Coast campus – week of September 14
- Broward campuses – week of September 14
- Jupiter campus – week of September 14
The events will focus on topics such as healthy lifestyles, personal property security, social networking safety, CPR, defensive driving, fire prevention, alcohol and drug abuse, date rape, and hurricane preparedness and recovery. FAU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to take part in the festivities, which include demonstrations from FAU police, FAU’s department of environmental health and safety, and others. Events will include a safety fair, residence hall health inspections, FAU emergency alert test, fire drills, safety lectures and much more.
