Architect Michael Willis will share his interdisciplinary knowledge of creating multi-family and public housing in dense, urban San Francisco where he integrated his knowledge of the social conditions with the practical requirements of architecture. Willis’ goal is to create buildings that are good neighbors in any community while providing a safe, efficient and humane environment for its occupants. Willis, an award-winning architect, has a joint degree in architecture and social work from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
This event serves as the kick-off to the College of Architecture, Urban and Public Affairs’ 20 th anniversary at FAU. A student architecture exhibit also will be on display from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Askew Tower Gallery. Light refreshments will be served.
