FAU’s Career Development Center Partners with the College of Engineering and Computer Science for ‘Engineering and Computer Science Career Day’
BOCA RATON, FL (September 11, 2007) – Florida Atlantic University’s Career Development Center (CDC), a department of the division of student affairs, along with the College of Engineering and Computer Science Engineering Career Development (ECD) office, is hosting an “Engineering and Computer Science Career Day.” More than 75 companies are scheduled to participate in this year’s event. FAU’s Fall 2007 Engineering and Computer Science Career Day will take place Wednesday, September 26 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the FAU Student Union on the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. The event is free and open to the public. Business dress is required.
The Engineering and Computer Science Career Day is an opportunity for FAU engineering undergraduates, graduates and the community to talk personally with representatives from various companies and organizations. The employer representatives are available to share information about specific careers, answer career-related questions and provide information about immediate or future employment opportunities with their company or organization. Some of the many employers scheduled to appear at Career Day include Citrix Systems, Florida Power & Light, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Motorola.
The ECD provides undergraduate and graduate students in the FAU’s College of Engineering and Computer Science with engineering co-op and internship opportunities.
In collaboration with the CDC, students and registered alumni can also attend special workshops and participate in practice interviews, resume critiques, etiquette dining seminars and learn to dress for success, in addition to a number of other career management programs.
