Florida Atlantic University Libraries’ special collections and archives department is hosting “The Age of Lincoln,” an exhibition of letters, pamphlets, prints and historical artifacts illustrating the Civil War era, from Monday, September 14, through Friday, October 23, in the Marvin & Sybil Weiner Suite, fifth floor of the Wimberly Library at the FAU Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.
The exhibition focuses on Abraham Lincoln, whose 200 th birthday was celebrated February 12, and the economic, political and social situation in America during the Civil War era.
The materials in the exhibit are from several collections, including The Marvin & Sybil Weiner Spirit of America Collection, the Arlyn Austin Katims Civil War Collection, the James A. Cross Civil War Collection, and the Rita and Harold Feigenbaum Print Collection. The exhibition’s hours are Monday through Wednesday, from noon to 5 p.m. and by appointment. Class tours are encouraged.
