FAU Jupiter Campus to Test Outdoor Warning System
JUPITER, FL (August 6, 2009) – Florida Atlantic University’s Jupiter campus is scheduled to test its outdoor warning system, part of the university-wide FAU Alert system, on Wednesday, August 12.
At various times between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., a loud siren followed by a spoken message will be heard across the John D. MacArthur campus, 5353 Parkside Drive. The test also will be heard by neighborhoods and business areas located near the Jupiter campus.
Beginning on Thursday, August 13, chimes will sound every day thereafter at noon on the Jupiter campus as a continuing test of the outdoor warning system. The FAU Alert system is designed to play a key role in keeping FAU’s students, faculty, staff and campus visitors safe during emergency situations.
