Local Artist Installs 'Rio de
Ais' Permanent Art Display in FAU Treasure Coast Campus
Phase II Building
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (July 16, 2009)
-
Florida Atlantic University’s newest building on the Treasure
Coast campus will receive its “finishing touch” on
Tuesday, July 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. with the installation of
“Rio de Ais,” a permanent art display created by artist
Paul Aho from Jensen Beach, Florida.
Funded through the state’s “Art in Public Places” program, “Rio de Ais” will be featured on three different walls in the MP building’s atrium-style lobby. The display will consist of 19 original works and will utilize a mixture of painted and photographic images. Aho’s research and direct experience with the Indian River Lagoon and its history was the inspiration for his piece.
FAU’s Treasure Coast Campus is located at 500 NW California Blvd. in St. Lucie West. The MP building is adjacent to the campus library. For more information, contact Cara C. Perry, Treasure Coast campus university relations, at 772-873-3339 or ccarlton@fau.edu.
