Several Performances of
FAU’s Summer Musical Revue to be Performed at Mizner
Park Cultural Arts Center
BOCA RATON (June 14, 2010) – Florida Atlantic
University’s Festival Rep Theatre has added a new venue for
performances this summer. The show “And the Tony Goes To . .
. Celebrating 60 Years of Broadway’s Best Musicals”
will be performed not only in FAU’s Studio One Theatre on the
Boca campus but also in the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center,
located at the eastern end of Mizner Park in Boca Raton. The shows
in Mizner Park are Friday, July 9 at 8 p.m., Saturday, July 17 at 8
p.m. and Friday, July 23 at 8 p.m. A full schedule of all the shows

“We are excited to present several performances of the musical revue at the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center black box theatre this summer,” said Den Kopani, chair of FAU’s department of theatre and dance. “This is a great venue for musical performances, and it is convenient for so many of our patrons.”
The musical revue will include songs from many well-known musicals including “Some Enchanted Evening,” from South Pacific; “The Impossible Dream,” from Man of La Mancha; “Memory,” from Cats and many more. Performers include professional actors Bruce Linser and Laura Wayth, as well as graduate students and faculty from FAU’s department of theatre and dance. Ticket prices are $20 for general admission; $15 for seniors, students, FAU faculty, staff and alumni. Package prices of $10 are available for all three shows and for groups.
FAU’s 2010 summer repertory theatre includes the musical revue, Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Donald Margulies’ “Shipwrecked.” The plays are performed by equity actors, along with graduate students in the FAU department of theatre. Festival Rep 2010 is presented by Bank of America, Jim and Marta Batmasian, Maroone Autonation, WXEL, the Palm Beach County Cultural Council and the Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council. The Oceanfront Holiday Inn at Highland Beach is also offering reduced rates for Festival Rep attendees. Just call 561-278-2008 and ask for the FAU rate. McCormick and Schmick’s Boca Raton location is offering a free appetizer or dessert with the purchase of an entrée on the day of the show, and PF Changs’ Boca Raton location is offering a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree on the day of the show.
