FAU Requests Stories of Love
BOCA RATON, FL (June 30, 2008) – In preparation for the fall production of “Eurydice,” a play about the mythical love story of Orpheus and Eurydice, the department of theatre and dance in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters is requesting love stories from the community. The stories will be displayed in the lobby of the Dorothy F. Schmidt Performing Arts Center during the run of the play, October 3 – 12. All stories must be submitted by Wednesday, August 20. Directions for submissions are as follows:
· Send all submissions electronically to Katy Morris at firstname.lastname@example.org or through the mail to Department of Theatre; AH 114, Florida Atlantic University; 777 Glades Road; Boca Raton, FL 33431.
· Pictures may also be submitted along with the stories.
· Include your name, phone number and email address in the body of the submission.
“Eurydice” is told from the perspective of Eurydice, who is deeply in love with Orpheus. The play opens with declarations of love from the two protagonists. Not far into the play, however, Eurydice dies and enters the underworld, where she loses all of her memory. Just as Orpheus, who is still among the living, composes letters to his departed bride, FAU would like to use your stories of love to help set the atmosphere for the play. For more information, call 561-297-3810.
