Michael and Madelyn Savarick Music Competition Finalists to be Featured in FAU Concert
BOCA RATON (May 6, 2009) – The department of music in The School of the Arts in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters recently announced the finalists of the annual Michael and Madelyn Savarick Music Competition. The finalists will be featured in a free concert on Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, and a winner in each of the artist categories will be chosen at the concert.
The annual competition is for musicians ages 11-18 in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin counties. Prizes will total $12,000, and in addition to the performance at the upcoming concert, winners may be invited to perform on WXEL radio, as a soloist with the FAU Symphony Orchestra or at other FAU organized events.
