FAU Student Alumni Association
to Host Pride Night
BOCA RATON, FL (April 16, 2010) –
The Florida Atlantic University Student Alumni
Association (SAA) will host Pride Night on Saturday, April 24 at 5
p.m. at the Marleen & Harold Forkas Alumni Center on the Boca
Raton campus. The event follows the FAU football team’s
2 p.m. spring scrimmage at the Oxley Center. FAU students and
alumni, along with members of the community, are invited to attend
and show their pride for FAU.
“This is a great time to be an owl,” said Moussa Hanna, president of SAA. “The spring semester is ending soon, and we want everyone in the FAU family to come out and celebrate with us. After the football scrimmage, we’ll head over to the Alumni Center for food and fun.”
The event is free and open to the public. A barbeque, free T-shirt giveaways and prize drawings are planned, along with a dunk tank featuring athletes and coaches. A reggae band, Stampede Movement, will perform.
“We’re hoping to make this an annual event,” said Michael Burdman, graduate assistant and SAA advisor. “We encourage everyone to show their FAU spirit and pride as we support our athletic teams’ efforts.”
Student groups are encouraged to participate in the 2 nd annual Spirit Cup competition. FAU also will host a five-minute pizza eating contest for students.
