Four FAU Students Receive the
‘Ruth Moore in Memory of Mabel Sperry College of
Education Scholarship’
PORT
ST. LUCIE, FL (April 12, 2010) -
Four
Florida Atlantic University students majoring in elementary
education recently received the “Ruth Moore in Memory of
Mabel Sperry College of Education Scholarship,” an award
designated for students living in the Treasure Coast area. Nicole
Johnson, Nicole Salzano, Jesse Bosque and Allison Pozo were the
first recipients of the scholarship, which provides financial aid
to deserving elementary education majors completing the State of
Florida teacher certification requirements.
Ruth Moore, a retired Vero Beach resident, established the award in
memory of her late mother, Mabel Sperry. She is a proponent of K-12
education and is a very active participant in Harbor Branch
Oceanographic Institute at FAU’s “Friends of Harbor
Branch” program. Her scholarship is part of FAU’s
Treasure Coast Campus TOP Scholarship Program. For more
