FAU Presents Exhibition of Works by BFA Graduates in Graphic Design and Studio Art
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (April 24, 2009) – Florida Atlantic University’s department of visual arts and art history in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will present their annual exhibit showcasing work by graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) majors on Wednesday, April 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the International Swimming Hall of Fame, One Hall of Fame Drive, Fort Lauderdale. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
The BFA show, planned by the artists under the direction of Stephanie Cunningham, FAU associate professor of graphic design, is a compilation of work representing 25 emerging visual artists displaying a dynamic selection of contemporary graphic design systems, paintings, illustration and video.
The celebration will include refreshments, hors d'oeuvres, promotional giveaways designed by the artists and sponsorship raffles. Also, a unique faux “passport” invitation targeted to attendees is designed to encourage interaction and perusal of all the displays by having each artist stamp the invitation with their insignia or design. There will also be networking opportunities for designers, art and gallery directors, design firms, and agencies.
The exhibition is made possible in part through support by Agnello & Sons General Contracting, American Postal & Business Services, and Compuscan. For further information, visit www.bfa2009.com or call 954-762-5060.
