FAU Schedules Memorial Service for Two Former Employees
BOCA
RATON, FL (March 29, 2011)
–
Florida Atlantic University will host a memorial service for David
and Sandy Lowe, two former FAU employees who were killed in a
highway accident in February, on Friday, April 15, at 4 p.m., in
the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing auditorium, 777 Glades
Road, Boca Raton campus. The service is free and open to the
public, and members of the Lowe family are expected to attend. The
College of Nursing is located on the east side of campus, near the
Administration Building.
The Lowes both worked at FAU for 20 years before they retired in
2004, and were well known to many inside and outside of the
university community. David was a fundraiser who rose to the
position of associate vice president for development, and Sandy was
an adjunct instructor of English in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College
of Arts and Letters. Both were dedicated to helping students, David
through the generation of scholarship dollars, and Sandy as a
teacher and mentor.
The David and Sandy Lowe Faculty and Staff Legacy Scholarship has
been established in the FAU Foundation in memory of the Lowes.
Anyone wishing to contribute to this fund may do so by making out a
check to the FAU Foundation and noting fund number SFA041 on the
memo line. Checks should be mailed to the FAU Foundation Inc.,
Administration Building, Room 295, Florida Atlantic University, 777
Glades Road, Boca Raton, FL 33431. Credit card donations may
be made over the phone by calling 561-297-2891.
