BOCA RATON, FL (March 14, 2011) – Florida Atlantic University will host the following events:
FAU’s University Galleries Presents the Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition
There will be an opening reception for the exhibition on Thursday, March 24, at 6 p.m., in the Ritter Art Gallery, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. The exhibition runs through Saturday, April 9, and is free and open to the public. For more information, call 561-297-2966.
This annual
juried exhibition is open to all FAU students who may submit up
to three works each. The exhibition typically represents about
one-third of the submitted works. The variety of art work is
unique and ranges from all disciplines, such as painting,
photography, ceramics, video art and sculpture.

FAU’s Department of Sociology Presents the Film,
‘Farmingville’
The film will be played on
Tuesday, March 29, from 6 to 9 p.m., in the
Performing Arts Building, room 101, 777 Glades Road,
Boca Raton campus. Admission is free. For more

“Farmingville”
is a documentary that puts a human face on the subject of
immigration in the United States. This film is being shown as
part of the Sociocinema Thinking Film Series which runs through
Tuesday, April 12.

FAU’s Department of Languages, Linguistics and
Comparative Literature Presents the French Film, ‘Entre
Les Murs’
The film will be played on
Wednesday, March 30, from 6 to 9 p.m., in the
Performing Arts Building, room 101, 777 Glades Road,
Boca Raton campus. Admission is free. For more

“Entres
Les Murs” is about a high school French teacher teaching
the French language to a class of multi-ethnic students.

FAU to Host Palm Beach Symphony at Jupiter Campus
The event will take place on
Wednesday, March 30, at 7 p.m., in the
Lifelong Learning Auditorium, 5353 Parkside Drive, John
D. MacArthur Campus, Jupiter. Ticket prices start at
$50. VIP tickets are $80 and include a reception
following the performance. For information or reservations,

For the second year, Florida Atlantic University’s Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College will present a concert by the Palm Beach Symphony at the John D. MacArthur Campus. The full orchestra of 50 musicians, under the direction of Maestro Ramón Tebar, will perform works by Darius Milhaud, Alberto Ginastera and Ludwig van Beethoven.
