FAU’s Chamber Soloists in Concert

            BOCA RATON, FL (March 16, 2010) – The Chamber Soloists in the department of music inFlorida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will present two concerts titled A Salute to Women Composers. The concerts will feature the works of Alba Rosa Vietor and Pauline Viardot. The first concert will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 3 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Auditorium on FAU’s Davie Campus, 2912 College Avenue.  The second concert will take place on Sunday, March 21 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $10.

Leonid Treer is the artistic director and pianist for the Chamber Soloists. Treer will be performing piano for the concert. Other performers include David George, violin; Birgit Fioravante, mezzo soprano; and Heather Coltman, piano. Coltman is chair of FAU’s department of music. Treer, who was born in the former Soviet Union, has performed throughout the former USSR, Europe, Israel, the United States, Australia and the People’s Republic of China as a soloist chamber musician.
