FAU’s Fifth Annual Seaside
Shindig Raises Scholarship Funds and Honors ‘Wave
Makers’

LAUDERDALE, FL (March 9, 2010) – Florida Atlantic
University’s National Alumni Association will host the fifth
annual “Seaside Shindig” on Saturday, April 10 from
5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at FAU’s SeaTech campus, 101 N. Beach Road,
Dania Beach. The Broward fundraiser is a catered event
celebrating a commitment to higher education while recognizing the
“Wave Makers” who have shown exceptional dedication to
the University and its Broward campuses.
This year’s honorees are Regent Bank as the corporate
partner; HANDY as the community partner; and the Outstanding Alumni
honoree will be announced at the event. Additionally, the
“Pearl of Broward” is a special award presented each
year to an individual who has shown leadership, advocacy and
support of FAU. This year, FAU Board of Trustees Chair Nancy
Blosser will receive the prestigious award. P.J. Rossi
Jewelers is the official “Pearl of Broward” designer
and five-time sponsor of the event.
Honorary Chair Virginia “Ginny” Miller and event
co-chairs Kathy Molinet ’95, ’04 and Kathy Kohler
’01 are pleased to host this event, which raises money to
support student scholarships, as well as alumni initiatives at FAU.
Annually, the event is attended by more than 200 top business and
community leaders, FAU alumni and friends of the university.
2010 event sponsors include James B. Pirtle Construction Company,
Broward Education Foundation, Broward Health Foundation, Broward
College, Regent Bank, State Farm Insurance and TRANE. Tickets
