FAU to Host Lecture by Luis Alberto Moreno, Former Ambassador of Colombia and President of the Inter-American Development Bank
WHAT: Florida Atlantic University will host Luis Alberto Moreno, former ambassador of Colombia to the United States and president of the Inter-American Development Bank, as part of its distinguished international visitor’s lecture. Moreno will speak on “Latin America and the Caribbean: The challenge of equity and competitiveness in the global era.”

As part of its distinguished international visitor’s lecture, Florida Atlantic University will host Luis Alberto Moreno, who will lecture on the priorities of improving opportunities in the region of Latin America and the Caribbean for the low-income majority while ensuring that they can better compete with Asia and the industrialized world. Moreno also will speak about his initiatives as president at the Inter-American Development Bank, as well as his experience as a student at FAU.
Moreno was elected president of the Inter-American Development Bank in July 2005. Prior to that, he served as Colombia’s ambassador to the United States for seven years. Moreno received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from FAU in 1975.
