FAU to Host ‘Planning Politics & Policy in Florida: Merging Past and Future’ Featuring Bob Graham

                               Management and Development at Florida Atlantic University’s
                               School of Urban and Regional Planning in the College of
                               Architecture, Urban and Public Affairs presents “Planning Politics
                               & Policy in Florida: Merging Past and Future,” featuring former
                               U.S. Senator and Florida Governor Bob Graham.

Former U.S. Senator and Florida Governor Bob Graham will be the special guest panelist for a presentation and discussion on “Planning Politics & Policy in Florida: Merging Past and Future.” Moderated by Jim Murley, director for FAU’s Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions, the session will cover the lessons learned from the past half-century of planning and growth management in Florida, and how to use this knowledge to establish a stronger planning system that will ensure a sustainable future for the state.    The lecture also will include panelists Richard G. RuBino and Earl M. Starnes.   RuBino, a professor emeritus of urban and regional planning at Florida State University, and Starnes, a professor emeritus of urban and regional planning at the University of Florida, co-authored the book Lessons Learned: The History of Planning in Florida in 2008.
