The FAU Symphony Orchestra Presents
an Afternoon of Classical Music
BOCA RATON (February 6, 2009) – The department of music in the School of the Arts in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will present a concert with the FAU Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, February 15 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. Admission is $15.
The orchestra, under the direction of Laura Joella, will present Richard Wagner’s Prelude from “Die Meistersinger;” Felix Mendellsohn’s beloved “Piano Concerto in G minor;” selections from Giuseppe Verdi’s operas “Rigoletto” and “La Traviata;” and more. The orchestra members will be accompanied by winners of a recent Concerto and Aria Competition, including Rick Shaw, trumpet; Robyn Lamp, soprano; Christopher Ohanian, piano; and Felicia Besan, viola.
