FAU’s Chamber Soloists Present “Baroque! Music for Harpsichord and Flute”

            BOCA RATON, FL (February 15, 2007) – Florida Atlantic University’s Chamber Soloists will present two concerts of Baroque music for harpsichord and flute on the weekend of February 24.   The first concert will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 2 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Auditorium on FAU’s Davie Campus, 2912 College Avenue.   The second concert will take place on Sunday, February 25 at 3 p.m. in the Harid Conservatory at 2285 Potomac Street in Boca Raton.   General admission is $15 at the door.   FAU students, faculty, staff and alumni may obtain free admission with ID.  

             The concert will include sonatas and suites by Johann Sebastian Bach, Domenico Scarlatti and George Frideric Handel.   These composers, who were all born in 1685, wrote music for the royalty in their countries:   Bach in Germany, Scarlatti in Spain and Handel in England.   The concert will be performed by Leonid Treer on double-manual harpsichord and flutist Elissa Lakofsky.
