Local News Columnist Frank Cerabino to Teach Course on Journalism for FAU Jupiter’s Lifelong Learning Society

JUPITER, FL (January 7, 2008) - Frank Cerabino, a news columnist for The Palm Beach Post, will teach a class at FAU’s Lifelong Learning Society in Jupiter, beginning on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 11:15 a.m.

The course, “The News on the News - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” will offer Cerabino’s perspective on journalism and its ever-evolving place in American culture. During the course of eight lectures, the veteran newspaperman will touch on a variety of subjects based on his personal experience in writing about a world of different topics.

Over the past 24 years, Cerabino has worked for both The Miami Herald and The Palm Beach Post, covering national political conventions, the baseball World Series, and the federal and state courts in South Florida. His stories have taken him many places, including flying into a hurricane on a storm-tracking plane, working for a day on a garbage truck and covering a nude wedding. Cerabino will provide an insider’s look at the process of news gathering, as well as explain the changing landscape of journalism in the digital age.
