The College of Architecture, Urban and Public Affairs' Public Procurement Research Center recently hosted participants from the Bulgarian delegation in the Open Government Initiative (OGI) project at the Fort Lauderdale Downtown campus. Dr. Cliff McCue, associate director of the center, which is housed in the School of Public Administration, directed the nine-day study tour. Primary components of the program included fundamental principles and the institutional processes underlying sound public works procurement systems; public works project cycles and related processes; transparency and anti-corruption measures in public works contract administration; benchmark procurement policies and guidelines; and advanced procurement processes and strategic procurement planning techniques.
