The 15th Annual Broward Achievement Awards ceremony was held in February at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts to recognize FAU students, faculty and staff who aspire to excellence and make a difference on the Broward campuses.
“Recognizing distinction is an important part of FAU’s commitment to providing quality education, preparing our students for the future and acknowledging
those who set themselves apart through leadership and vision,” says Sean Fahey, graduate assistant in the Student Development and Activities office and coordinator of the event.
Ray Monteleone ’92, owner of Monteleone & Associates Consulting, Inc., and chair of FAU’s Broward Alumni Roundtable, delivered an inspirational keynote address about leadership. Event sponsors included Comcast, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, FAU Broward Student Government, University Advancement, Dr. Joanne Harrison and Trustee Dr. George C. Zoley.

FAU will host a “Seaside Shindig” event on Friday, April 7, at 5 p.m., in celebration of the University's partners and Broward community leaders. The festivities will feature a New England-style clambake, live music and dancing.
The Seaside Shindig is a fund-raising initiative to benefit the University and students through the Broward Vision Fund. The fund supports emergency scholarships for students. Proceeds from the event will also go toward the establishment of a Broward room in the Marleen and Harold Forkas Alumni Center, which will be built on FAU’s Boca Raton campus. In addition, the event will present “Wave Rider” awards spotlighting Broward corporate, community, civic and alumni partners.
The Seaside Shindig will be held on the beach of the SeaTech campus, 101 North Beach Road, Dania Beach. For more information or to make reservations, contact Sheri O’Neill at 954-762-5275 or email@example.com.
