President Brogan and Jensen Grant help Honors College student Rachel Morreale move her belongings in her Jupiter campus residence. In August, the President assisted students at the Jupiter and Boca Raton campuses as they moved in for the Fall Semester.

President Frank T. Brogan and Mrs. Courtney Brogan (center) hosted an event at the Eleanor R. Baldwin House on the Boca Raton campus to mark the conclusion of FAU’s 40th anniversary year. More than 150 faculty, staff and friends of the University attended. Heather Coltman (far left), chair of the Department of Music in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, and Caren S. Neile (far right), artist-in-residence in the Department of Communication, also in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, premiered an original work titled "Radar, A Love Story" that was created specifically for the occasion. The six-scene piece recounted the founding and history of FAU through a live presentation that incorporated a mixture of storytelling and piano performance. In compiling the background material for "Radar, A Love Story," Dr. Neile interviewed many people who played pivotal and supporting roles in the University’s story.

The Rob Fisher sculpture"Organelle" was installed earlier this summer outside the entrance to the Charles E. Schmidt Biomedical Science Center on the Boca Raton campus. Fisher is considered a pioneer in the application of the computer to art. Among his earlier works are "Olympos," an architectural light sculpture illumination created for the 1996 Centennial Olympics in Atlanta; the 1986 work, "Osaka Skyharp," installed in Japan; and "Galaxy," a recently restored 86-foot-high sculpture in Boston. In 2000, Fisher was awarded the major public art commission for the Philadelphia International Airport Arrivals Hall for his "American Dream."
