Joining the Marching Owls
WHO CAN BE A MARCHING OWL?
Marching Owls is an ensemble-class in the Department of Music open to students who meet the following criteria:
1. Official Enrollment at Florida Atlantic University, or admission as a transient student from a qualifying institution. (for more information on transient student application visit this www.facts.org
2. Successful completion of the audition process
3. Permission of the director to enroll in the ensemble-class.
WILL MARCHING OWLS INTERFERE WITH MY SCHOOL WORK?
Owls rehearsals are at a time of the day when few other classes meet. With careful planning you should have time to participate in the Marching Owls. As with any college activity, you will be responsible for keeping track of your time and keeping up with all of your schoolwork. Plan ahead – you can make it work.
WILL I RECEIVE UNIVERSITY CREDIT?
Yes! Everyone who participates in the band must be registered for the class. Class registration lists will be checked during the first week of classes and anyone found not to be registered will be suspended from the Marching Owls. The course has two different class codes. For freshman and sophomores is MUN 1110, MWF 5:00-6:50pm CR#: 89661. The code for juniors, seniors, and transfer students is MUN 4113, MWF 5:00-6:50pm CR# 83023. You may register for 1,2 or 3 credit hours.
