Major General Robert B. Solomon:
Chief of the Command Information
Division in Vietnam

Major General Robert B. Solomon is another Jewish officer who served his country in Vietnam. He made many notable contributions to the war effort in the Republic of Vietnam.
He served as chief of the Command Information Division for the United States Military Assistance Command in Vietnam and was active there from July 1968 to July 1969. After his tour of duty in Vietnam, Solomon was sent to Europe to command the 1st Battalion, 35th Armor, 4th Armored Division. He has had many responsible positions throughout his military career.
He was promoted to major general in January 1982.
Gen Solomon received many decorations which include:
● Legion of Merit, Defense Superior Service Medal
● Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster,
● Joint Service Commendation Medal
● Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters.
He was born on December 14, 1930, in Baltimore. Ge. Solomon received a master of science degree from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. He is married to the former Frances Nathanson and they have three children.
Major General Robert B. Solomon has contributed to the legacy of Jews who have served our country in war.
