Alternative Spring Break takes place during every academic Spring Break week, in which you will have the opportunity to give back to your community. This program provides a deeper understanding of issues that affect different communities in and out of South Florida. Global citizenship provides the opportunity to experience this life-changing journey with  your teammates through reflection and community building, which makes this experience a memory to stay fresh for years to come.



Broward Brown Bags touches on multiple of Leadership development topics involving the progression of your social, personal, & professional department. Known throughout the Broward Campuses as LEADer Tuesday (SeaTech), LEADer Wednesday (Ft. Lauderdale), and LEADer Thursdays (Davie) these brown bag series focuses on evolving students in an hour and showing them important lessons, substance, and reflection to be Leaders in their community.



The Certified Student Leader program is a co-curricular certification available to students at the Florida Atlantic University interested in enhancing their leadership knowledge, application, and skills through a variety of leadership opportunities.

These opportunities may be tailored to students own interests, many of which are offered over the course of the academic year. This program must be completed in one academic year. Students can start the certificate program at the beginning of every semester (during the first six weeks). This is an ideal opportunity for students to learn about leadership while allowing for the flexibility to accommodate their busy lives and schedules.

Students who complete the program and are in good academic standing will receive a Certificate and will have the certification noted on their co-curricular transcript.



Day of Service events occurs throughout the academic year focusing on a campus partner organization. With Owls working hand in hand with the partner organization through reflection and service, this day of service turns into a opportunity to give back to the FAU community.


LDR 2010

This course will expose students to the basic foundation of leadership and its application to college experiences in student leadership roles. Students will be engaged in activities and projects that will increase self-awareness through the exploration of values, beliefs, culture, and identity. This elective class is designed for student leaders and those who aspire to leadership roles.



Leadership Reading Circles provides the opportunity for students to immerse with Faculty to discuss leadership topics and experiences, in an intimate setting. Through books hand picken by the Davie faculty, Students have the opportunities to learn through text how to apply their learnings to their life in and out of FAU.



The Student Leadership Institutes are day long programs created to enhance your leadership skills. They will prepare you to “Be the Change” for your community or organization. Leadership Institutes are facilitated by faculty, staff and current student leaders who will motivate, challenge and support you in your journey of leadership development.
