BY LYNDA F. RYSAVY | April 2, 2019

The Florida Atlantic Brain Institute hosted Brain Blitz: Hands-on fun for kids, this past weekend.

Nearly 30 Neurosquad members, including undergraduates, graduates, faculty and staff from FAU Brain Institute, Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience and Scripps Research volunteered at the event held at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium on Sunday.

Children and their families participated in virtual reality demos', dressed up like neuroscientists and toured the new, "Journey Through the Human Brain" exhibit.

Kids were also able to see and touch a real animal brain, craft a neuron and participate in various neuroscience experiments. More than 1,500 people visited the museum during the annual event.

The event is part of "Brainy Days," sponsored by the FAU Brain Institute, Neuroscience Student Organization, Ascend, and the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium.
