About FAU Jupiter
Located in the Abacoa community, Florida Atlantic University's John D. MacArthur Campus opened in the fall of 1999. In Spring 2012 the campus headcount was comprised of 800 primary students with service provided to over 1,200 students. The campus is home to the
Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College
and offers a variety of courses from the programs in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts & Letters, the College for Design and Social Inquiry, the College of Education, the College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science.

History
Florida Atlantic University has been providing higher education opportunities to residents in the northern part of its service area for several decades. Prior to 1993-94 college credit classes were offered at off campus "centers" through FAU's Division of Continuing Education. In northern Palm Beach County, classes were offered at the West Palm Beach Center at 45th Street.
