JLSI Research Spins Out Company and Wins 2016 FAU Tech Runway Designation
A Jupiter Life Science Initiative company, Neuro Pharmacologics LLC, was the Neuroscience Pillar Designee awardee for the FAU Tech Runway’s 4th business accelerator 2016 class competition. The company was founded in 2015 by Dr. Ken Dawson-Scully and Dr. Stacee Caplan, who will be granted incubator workspace for one year, participate in a 16-week intensive boot camp, and engage in a rigorous year-long mentoring program with a team of accomplished business mentors at FAU Tech Runway located in the FAU Research Park in Boca Raton.
“Our research has developed a number of patented therapeutic targets for neurological pathologies resulting from stroke-like injuries, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and migraine. We are very excited to work with FAU to commercialize our research and bring it from the laboratory bench to patients.” said Dr. Caplan.
Dr. Dawson-Scully’s research group joined the Jupiter Life Science initiative in 2013 and has developed scientific collaborations with a number of researchers at The Scripps Research Institute to further his technologies. “The exceptional scientific environment that the FAU Jupiter Life Science Initiative has provided our translational research program has led to our ability to tune our discoveries into marketable products appropriate to commercialize.” said Dr. Dawson-Scully.
