All the computers in FAU labs are on the FAU network. In order to use them you will need to know your FAUNet ID and activate it. Follow the steps below:
- Use a web browser to go to https://secure.fau.edu/createusr/webform1.aspx
You will need to enter your student ID number (usually your Social Security number) and your 6-digit PIN. By default PINs are set to 2 zeros followed by the 2-digit DAY and 2-digit YEAR of birth (if you were born Dec. 3, 1980, your PIN would be 000380). After doing so, press the Submit button.
If you need assistance with your PIN, please contact the Registrar’s Office. IRM does not have access to PINs.
- Read the IRM Network Computing Policy, click the Agree circle, and then click the Submit button. You will be able to use the labs and FAU network only if you agree to the policy.
- If you entered the correct student ID and PIN, the page will come back with your username at the bottom (you will need to scroll down the page to see the username). If you entered an incorrect student ID and PIN you will get a message that authentication failed and will be able to try again. If you do not know your PIN, you will need to contact the Registrar's Office.
- For security purposes you should change you password at https://secure.fau.edu/password/ . Changing your password at this site will change it only for your network access. To keep your mail and network passwords consistent, you should login to MyFAU at (http://myfau.fau.edu) and change your password there as well.
