Link Checker allows you to make sure the web links that you have posted to your Blackboard course are active.

To access the Link Checker tool in Blackboard, enter your course and click  the Control Panel button on the lower left side of the screen below the course menu. 

Next, click on Link Checker under Course Tools.

A list of all of the web links in the course will appear, including the following information about each link:

• Website title
• URL (web address)
• Location (within Blackboard)
• Availability (whether the link has been made visible to students)

If the link is valid, there will be a checkmark to the right of the item in the list.

If the link is not valid, it will have a red X. and a check box which will allow you to choose to hide the link. Hiding a link gives you a chance to find the correct web address and change it instead of simply deleting the link and later having to re-insert it.
