13. College of Education Student Achievement Council
The College of Education SAC participated in the planning committee and facilitation of a fundraiser for the Palm Beach County Food Bank. This commitment began in November of 2013 and finished in March of 2014. The Empty Bowls 2014 event raised funds for the food bank and was committed to demonstrating the farm to table to community relationship with the support of retired professor Dr. Marta Cruz-Jansen.
12. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in the last year has held programming for Men on campus, by teaching them etiquette and business ventures. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. held their "Man Kode" event that taught about business and proper etiquette ventures that they should delve in which is rare in the FAU community. Men are rarely given programming that is dedicated to them.
11. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. held an event called "Kamputer" which brought out over 50 elementary school children to learn about science and technology in a new and innovative way. It lasted all day and allowed them to experience the college community at a young age.
10. Black Student Union
The Black Student Union held the first ever "Black Image Awards" in the FAU Stadium on April 15, 2014. Not only was the venue innovative for a student organization to use, it was also the first time that the event had been held. The event highlighted leaders on campus who were selected by their peers as being efficient leaders since FAU promoted student leadership.

From Fall of 2014 to Spring of 2014 the Black Student Union hosted 20+ programs to assist the Florida Atlantic University in areas on discrimination, domestic violence, dealing with college, education, community service, art, culture, history, and politics, and health (breast cancer, prostate cancer).
8. Phi Kappa Phi
The National Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society started an initiative to have a book drive competition among the hundreds of chapters nationwide. We decided to get involved but started late. The book drive was to be from February 1 to April 30, 2014 and we started early April. We had lots of support from our officers and members and were able to spread the word FAST! We collected 1321 books to be donated to the Africa Book Drive, an initiative to increase the supply of books at libraries in Ethiopia and Ghana. We were winners of the Phi Kappa Phi book drive and will be receiving a Little Free Library that we will be decorating and installing in fall 2014. We were able to work effectively as a team to put together an initiative for a good cause.
7. Alpha Phi Omega
On June 14, 2014 Alpha Phi Omega volunteered with Paint Your Heart Out to paint the house of a single, low income woman. This project was from 8:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M.
6. Alpha Phi Omega
On May 31, 2014 we volunteered to paint, rack leaves, and put down sod at the house of a paraplegic veteran who was currently in the hospital in West Palm Beach. This was a part of Rebuilding Houses of SWA: Solid Waste Authority.
5. Alpha Phi Omega
The Alpha Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega saw the need to help Freshmen move in during the summer. As a chapter we saw that there is help for fall 2014 but the freshman that come in the summer need help too. Therefore, we organized Moving In with APO. We contacted Housing and the Residential Coordinator for Parliament Hall, Ryan, and we were given the criteria and what to wear and what not to wear. We were approved and helped freshmen on June 19, 2014 move in from 9:00- 1:00 P.M. We unloaded cars and carried and unloaded their things into their rooms.
4. Pulse Dance Troupe
Received the Council of Student Organization's New Student Organization of the Year Award as well as the Black Student Union's Fine Arts Organization of the Year Award in spring 2014. Also in fall 2013, were the 2nd Annual Apollo Night winners of $1,000.
3. Alpha Phi Omega
At the Florida conference for Alpha Phi Omega on March 30, 2014, the Alpha Delta Lambda Chapter at Florida Atlantic University received the Best Service Program and the Best Service Project. We are extremely proud of this award.
2. Student Philanthropy Council
FAU’s Student Philanthropy Council hosted the week-long “Change for the Future” project this previous November, during which they asked students to donate $1 “or whatever spare change they had “to their College’s scholarship fund. After a week in the Breezeway on the Boca Raton campus, the Council raised $172.19 from 81 student donors. The Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters raised the most money. They plan to host this event every fall semester. The goal of the Student Philanthropy Council is to educate students on the importance of philanthropy and to create a culture of giving back before they become successful alumni. The council is comprised of student leaders who want value the power of philanthropy, and who believe in the future of FAU.
1. Association for Doctoral Students of Public Administration
On April 30, 2014 the Doctoral Student Colloquium featured student presentations in preparation for the Public Administration Theory Network Annual Conference in Miami, FL. Students and faculty enjoyed the banquet-style event while participating in scholarly inquiry and discourse.
