Fall 2019 Calendar of Events

International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare students for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.

Passport Table

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Location: Breezeway

Learn about study abroad programs, the significance of maintaining a valid U.S. passport, and information on how to apply/renew a U.S. passport.

Show your Flag! International Education Week kick-off event

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Featuring: Capoeira Dance Group

Celebrate cultural diversity, identity, and integration by coming together and representing your country.

Global Coffee Hour: International Wellness

Come and engage with experts from CAPS, Owls Care, and Campus Recreation about the importance of mental and physical well-being!

Bring your lunch and we will provide beverages and healthy refreshments.

Peace Corps Certificate Information Session

Come learn about the Peace Corps Prep Program by a Peace Corps representative.  The Peace Corps Prep helps students develop essential skills that can be utilized outside the classroom. 

Town Hall Meeting

Location: EE 106 (Boca Raton Campus)

Open meeting for international students. Videoconferencing available for students not able to join us at the Boca Raton Campus.

The Center for Global Engagement staff will answer questions, hear concerns/suggestions, share resources and be together as an international community.

Researching Nations of the World

Location: Wimberly Library Instructional Lab LY 136

Sponsored by the FAU Libraries, this workshop will show participants how to locate information about the nations of the world to increase awareness in the present-day global environment.
