Testing and Placement

On the first day of each term, new students are given tests to find their level in each skill area. The results of these tests are carefully analyzed to determine which of the six levels we offer is most appropriate:

1. Beginning
2. High Beginning
3. Low Intermediate
4. High Intermediate
5. Advanced I
6. Advanced II - Skills for University Success

When necessary, students with a particular strength or weakness will be given a “split schedule,” with a higher level for some skills and a lower level for others.
