iDiscover Pre-Conference Tracks

Who can attend?

- FAU Students (FREE)
- High School Students (register early for spots are limited)

iDiscover will kick off the iLead Weekend events on Friday, Sept. 22 and serve as the Pre-Conference to the iLead Student Leadership Conference. iDiscover will feature several specialized track options for students to receive intentional self-development that is personalized for various leadership interests and involvement levels. All of the specialized tracks will join at the close of the Pre-Conference to end with a Networking Dinner. iDiscover will end with all tracks (except for Catalyst) attending a Networking Dinner. Guest leaders will be invited to interact with all participants and engage in intentional conversations throughout the early evening. More details will soon follow via confirmation e-mails.

Certain tracks begin in the early morning hours and most begin at 1 p.m. to conclude following the networking dinner at 6:30 p.m. Details will be confirmed upon placement into tracks through the registration process.

Pre-Collegiate Leadership Development Track [CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION]

targeted towards pre-collegiate (grades 9-12) students who are interested in getting a head start in leadership and service development, determining and living out their values and applying them to future aspirations.


targeted towards students interested in the importance of career development and career readiness in college and leadership development along the way. The competencies and skillsets desired by employers inclusive of leadership and more will be a focus.

Fraternity/Sorority Life (Learn2Lead program equivalent)

specifically targeted only towards emerging leaders in FAU’s Fraternity and Sorority Life community. New members, and those who have recently  joined the fraternity and sorority community, would be an ideal attendee of this track.

Leading as a Graduate/Professional Student [CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION]

targeted towards the needs of FAU’s graduate and professional student population with a specific focus on professional development, networking and succeeding as a leader in your post graduate pursuits. 


targeted towards students who are passionate about sports and living an active and healthy lifestyle. Leaders within intramural and club sports would be an ideal fit for this track.

You are a Leader in Service-Learning [CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION]

targeted towards students who want to connect with First Responders and community leaders to learn about their roles and how their work supports the health of the greater community.

Interfaith/Spirituality as a Student Leader [CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION]

targeted towards students who want to develop and enhance their own faith and spirituality as a leader in the FAU community and beyond.

Exploring Self-Identity as a Student Leader [CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION]

targeted towards students who want to define how their own self-identity as a leader and their identities show up in the various leadership roles and experiences they have.


The Catalyst track will be hosted on the FAU Jupiter Campus and is a one-day program focused on learning to develop your own authentic path, connecting to groups and causes you care about, and committing to a plan to be a catalyst for yourself and the groups you’re part of. Both LeaderShape Institute and Non-LeaderShape Institute graduates may select the Catalyst track (note that selection processes and next steps may apply).

iLead Student Leadership Conference

Who can attend?

- Non-FAU College Students ($45)
- FAU Alumni *for a select portion of the day, 1:30 - 4 p.m. (FREE)

The iLead Student Leadership Conference iLead is a catalyst for students to become change agents! The conference is a meaningful experience promoting and enhancing self-awareness as a leader. The conference includes popular keynote speakers, breakout sessions and opportunities to engage with peers, faculty, staff and many more. The conference will be on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Union on the Boca Raton campus. The conference day will conclude with a special LeaderShape showcase and the Lead.Mix.Mingle reception.

Heart Walk

This year, iLead falls on the same day as the The Palm Beach County Heart Walk being hosted by the local chapter of the American Heart Association. The Walk takes place at the Meyer Amphitheater in West Palm Beach. To lead one must serve and iLead is providing the opportunity for selected students to participate during the Walk in coordination with iLead. Transportation will be provided for a select group of FAU students on the same day as iLead! Participants will be departing FAU at 7 a.m. in order to arrive at check-in. Students who are chosen will take part in the 3.1 mile walk and then travel back to the Boca Raton campus to take part in the last breakout session, closing keynote, the LeaderShape showcase and Lead.Mix.Mingle.

- FAU Students who attended either iDiscover, iLead, or both (FREE)

Sunday, Sept. 24 from 1 - 3 p.m. in Live Oak Pavilion on the Boca Raton campus will be an opportunity to reflect and make meaning regarding your iLead Weekend experience(s). This intimate, interactive learning-style structured program will enhance and deepen the development from iDiscover and/or iLead. Space is limited so register early!
