The following outlines the 2017-18, Across-the-Board Salary Increase and Merit Bonus Pay Program for all eligible, non-union employees at FAU.
The across-the-board salary increase program will reflect a salary increase of either 1% or $500 (per person/year), whichever is higher. The bonus pay program will constitute a one-time bonus of up to 3%.
For both programs, the University will fund employees charged to E&G. Employees funded from other sources, such as Grants and Contracts and Auxiliaries, will need to identify an amount equal to this program for their employees in these categories, as well. In other words, the 2017-18, across the board increase and bonus program is for all FAU eligible employees. Employees should neither be advantaged nor disadvantaged relative to their funding source.
Outlined below are the guidelines for AMP, SP, and eligible out-of-unit faculty employees, and employee eligibility will be based on the following criteria:
Increases will be awarded based on the employee’s base salary as of November 18, 2017. Because of the need to process the information quickly and accurately, the Human Resources unit will place a moratorium on processing any salary increase to an employee record after November 17, 2017 and through December 1, 2017. For exceptional situations, please seek the guidance of your appropriate Vice President.
Salary increases will be effective as of November 18, 2017 and will be reflected in the employee’s paycheck on December 8, 2017.
Finally, FAU is also funding a bonus program up to 3% based on employee performance reviews. This program also stipulates that, at a minimum, $500 or funds equivalent to the distribution shown below on a full-time base salary (whichever is greater) will be applied.
Meets: 1.0% of base
Exceeds: 2.0% of base
Outstanding: 3.0% of base
Out-of-Unit faculty will be rated on the 5-point scale developed by the Office of the Provost.
It is important to ensure that all employees have received a performance review for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Newer employees who have not been employed for the full year but were hired or promoted into an SP or AMP position up to April 30, 2017, with a current rating in Workday as part of the 2017 Employee Review Process, are therefore eligible to receive an across-the-board salary increase and bonus payment. If you have any questions or need assistance in this process, please contact Natalie Manoogian at email@example.com
Bonuses will be reflected in the employee’s paycheck on December 8, 2017.
