FAU Jupiter Housing
2012-2013 Housing Guidebook
Beginning in August 2011, all students at the Wilkes Honors College are required to live on campus for the first two years of their enrollment. Non-Honors College students who attend the Jupiter Campus can also apply for housing but are not required to do so. Studies of college and university students across the country have shown that on-campus living increases the success rate of those students. On-campus living provides students greater opportunities to become involved with the University, to meet and develop relationships with a greater variety of people and to participate in a living experience that is unique to university life. The Accommodations:Residents are assigned a single bedroom in a 4-bedroom suite. Although the residence halls are co-ed, only students of the same gender are assigned as suitemates. Each suite has a shared common living room furnished with an upholstered couch and chair, coffee table, end table, and entertainment center. Each individual bedroom has a large mirrored closet, as well as an exta-long twin bed, desk, chair, and chest of drawers. The suites are designed with a split bathroom (shower/sink, toilet/sink). Each bedroom is equipped with a private telephone line (which is available for hook-up through a campus service provider at cost to the student), cable television connection, and high-speed internet connection. The residence halls are also outfitted with a multi-purpose room for studying or watching television, as well as laundry facilities.
