University Honors Program Course Schedules
A key element in the University Honors Program (UHP) is the Honors Courses taught by top ranked faculty covering a wide range of topics and issues. Because the small class size is limited to eighteen students, there is great opportunity for close interaction between instructors and students. All UHP courses substitute for Intellectual Foundations Program (IFP) curriculum courses and many are Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) courses. Students typically take four seminars in their freshmen year.
Honors Students will be enrolled in the 2 credit SLS 1501 - Introduction to Academic Life their first semester. These courses are designed to help develop academic and personal skills that will assist students in achieving their academic goals, developing and/or improving essential academic skills, creating a sense of place and a feeling of connectedness to the University Scholars and Florida Atlantic University community, developing analytical and critical thinking skills, and improving their written and oral communication skills.
